COMMUNICATION n. 4 ( next )

Within the Italian Dental Associations (AIO) 10th International Congress held next June 13 - 15 in Chia, Sardegna ITALY lies a green theme!

Starting off the green theme will be the lecture of Style Italiano held Friday, June 14th from 9 am - 11:30 am followed by the AIO - AIOP (Italiian Association of Prosthetic Dentistry) Symposium from 11:30 am - 7 pm where Hungarian Maestro Istvan Urban will give a keynote lecture in Implant Prosthetics Continuing with the green theme on Saturday, June 15th from 9 am - to 3 pm will be the long awaited friendly face off in Esthetic Dentistry between European, Italian and South American Schools of thought.

Friday, Style Italiano, a community of Italian experts founded by Angelo Putignano from the University of the Marche in Ancona, Italy and Walter Devoto professor in both Barcellona, Spain and Marsilles, France will demonstrate simple and repeatable procedures in daily dentistry that optimize chair time with patients. They will also show the lastest composite materials that can recreate the esthetics of the natural dentition to near perfection.

Putignano and Devoto will then team up with Jordi Manauta, professor in Seville in Spain as well as in Siena and Pisa in Italy to teach protocols for the selection of composites and adhesives based on the patients treatment plan. Limits of these materials as well as layering techniques used to attain maximum esthetic results will be discussed respecting the fine line that has developed between restorative and prosthetic dentistry. "On numerous occasions" says Manauta "we've heard comments that esthetic restorations are sophisticated and complex techniques reserved only for the very talented. The reality is that these techniques can be readily learned and continously reproduced even by the average clinician providing him with a high percentage of success.

Fridays AIO - AIOP Symposium will host other key green theme speakers such as Gaetano Calesini from Rome), Marco Ferrari from Milan, the Romanian-Israeli Mirela Feraru and Ignazio Loi who will present his Biologically Oriented Preparation Technique-BOPT together with Mauro Fadda from Bologna, Italy but Sardinian by birth.

The green theme will continue on into Saturday with the friendly competition entitled “Esthetics in Dentistry: European and South American Visions”. The European team made up of Irene Sailer, Division of Fixed Prosthetics and Biomaterials in Geneva, Switzerland and Daniel Edelhoff, Department of Prosthetics and the Science of Dental Materials from the University Ludwig-Maximilian in Munich, Germany will hit it off with South Americans Paulo Kano from San Paulo, Brazil and Cilean Milko Villaroel (Curitiba). Together with the Italian team of Francesco Mangani from Rome, Roberto Spreafico from Busto Arsizio and Vincenzo Musella from Modena they'll take a deep look into new horizons in esthetic dentistry.

All this and much more await you at the Italian Dental Associations (AIO) 10th International Congress from June 13 - 15 in Chia, Sardegna ITALY.
