The Italian Dental Associations (AIO) 10th International Congress in Chia, Sardegna from June 13-15, 2019 welcomes the entire dental team! Marzia Segù, director of the AIO Scientific Committee as well as didactic coordinator of the Dental Hygienist course at the University of Pavia, Italy, will chair the session dedicated to dental hygienists. The session that is sponsored by the Italian Association of Dental Hygienists (AIDI) will be held Saturday, June 15 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm and offers 8 credit hours of CE to participants. Starting off the hygienists session will be keynote lecturer Anna Maria Genovesi, instructor in the Dental Hygiene course at the University of Genova, Italy who will explore Innovative Technology in the Field of Prevention. In dentistry the importance of the role of the dental hygienist is reaching new levels especially with the advent of recent technological and product breakthroughs giving way to highly efficient prevention measures performed with refined mini invasive techniques. Support therapy is also being used to resolve more complex cases to give patients back their smiles. Following Genovesi and taking the podium from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm will be Magda Mensi, instructor in the masters course in Parodontology at the University of the Sapienza in Rome as well as member of the Italian Society of Parodontology who will discuss Professional and Home Protocols for the Removal of Biofilm in Patients with Gingival Recession. Continuing will be Monica Castellano, instructor in the Dental Hygienist course at the University of Torino, will look at The Use of Microbiotic Testing in Daily Clinical Hygiene. From 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm Mini Invasive Protocols in the Management of Hard and Soft Tissues, Before, During And After Orthodontic Treatment will be explored by Andrea Butter, instructor in the Dental Hygienists master program “The Dental Hygienist: Expert in the Treatment and Assistance in Complex Clinical Cases” at the University of Pavia, Italy together with Camilla Preda, hygienist in the private practice of Dr. Marzia Segù.
