COMMUNICATION n. 7 ( next )

Regeneration of the dentin pulp complex, pain management, and the reduction of working time represent only but a few of the topics in contemporary endodontics that will be explored during the 10th International Congress of the Italian Dental Association held from June 13-15, 2019 in the splendid seaside resort of Chia Laguna on the beautiful island of Sardegna in Italy. On Thursday June 13th from 9am to 6pm Professor Elisabetta Cotti from Cagliari, Italy along with Denise Irene Karin Pontoriero from Genova, Italy will host Ken Hargreaves, Director of the Department of Endodontics at the University of Texas, San Antonio and author of over 160 articles while he lectures on regenerative endodontics and pain management. Hargreaves will lecture on saving the tooth through dentin pulp complex regeneration, provide details of state of the art regenerative procedures and factors that help predict regenerative success. He will also discuss the management of acute pain through the use of a combination of analgesics while providing the latest updates on NSAID’s, acetaminophen containing analgesics and other analgesics aimed at providing the patient with immediate emergency pain relief . Also on Thursday, Fabio Gorni, director of the program in Perioral Esthetics at the University Vita Salute San Rafffaele in Milan, Italy, member of the Italian Society of Endodontics (SIE) and author of the multimedia opera Endodontic Recuperation of the Severely Compromised Dentition (Utet 2018) will discuss the importance of balancing basic biologic concepts with mini invasiveness to ensure optimal endodontic therapeutic results. Careful radiographic evaluation and diagnosis, cavity access and preparation, endodontic technique and instrumentation allowing for total mechanical canal debridement and shaping along with a reduction in working will be discussed. Just as important as the endodontic treatment is the selection of the final restoration to be placed. Sandro Pradella, private practitioner from Curtatone, Mantova Italy and instructor in Restorative Dentistry in Parma, Italy will explore indirect restorative solutions in the discolored endodontically treated anterior dentition. In the last few years the use of metal free restorations have had tremendous growth thanks to their excellent esthetic integration and adhesive fixation. The clinician must however take into consideration the discoloration of the underlying tooth structure and the translucence of metal free restorations while treatment planning. The use of different shades of luting resins need to be considered in order to attain an optimal mimetic integration of the final restoration. A look at a series of restorative options to consider in compromised situations will also be looked at. All this and much more await you at the Italian Dental Associations (AIO) 10th International Congress from June 13 - 15 in the beautiful seaside paradise of Chia in Sardegna ITALY. Don't miss out on this exciting, one of a kind event! Go to the congress website at and register. The earlier you register the more you save! For housing please visit . See you there!
