Couch Giancarlo

Dr. Giancarlo Couch is a hard-working, focused, highly motivated, altruistic dental team member with a strong sense of ethics and possessing high values, standards and integrity.
He has dedicated his life to dentistry and has served the profession as a dental assistant, a dental hygienist and finally, as a practicing general dentist. He is actively licensed to practice dentistry in the USA as well as in Italy where he currently owns a private practice. He speaks both English and Italian fluently.
He has lived on three continents, America, Europe and Asia. With a global perspective, coupled with his strong sense of altruism, he has unselfishly worked to help patients achieve better oral health in America, Europe, Africa and Asia.
His passion for traveling along with hobbies such as gardening, photography, cooking swimming and dancing, have help him achieve the perfect work/life balance.
His amiable, easy going and positive personality has facilitated him in developing and maintaining excellent dentist/patient relationships as well as achieving an excellent rapport with others everywhere he goes.
He is a strong believer in the importance of guiding the future the dental profession. Because of this he has accepted numerous leadership roles within AIO, the Italian Dental Association, working to meet the needs and expectations of members, providing service, promoting policy, organizing local, national and international educational events while actively advocating for the profession.
Elected to 6 terms, he has served a total of 18 years as provincial president of the Italian Dental Association, during which time he gained extensive experience in attracting and recruiting new members, while working to consolidate and retain older ones.

Many of these proposals have been influential in the elaboration and passage of oral health legislation as well as the integration of oral health into Italian health policies.
For over 20 years he has been a team member of the Italian Dental Associations International Relations Committee working directly with the leaders of international dental associations establishing and upholding partnerships based on shared values, common ideals and goals, along with brainstorming to search for ideas leading to solutions to current problems affecting dentistry including prevention, improving oral health and access to care.
He is also a voting delegate to the FDI (World Dental Federation) where global policy affecting the dental profession is established, discussed, decided and implemented into national healthcare legislation by governments worldwide.
He is also a founder of a school for dental assistants where he currently teaches, not only dental
assisting, but also motivation and passion for the dental profession.
He has been recently honored by being inducted as a Fellow into the International Academy for
Dental Facial Esthetics as well as elected by the Global Summits Institute as one of the World’s
Top 100 Doctors for 2023. He is also an honorary member of the Chicago Dental Society.
