9.00 - 13.30 | Mobile Dental photography (MDP): the new era of dental documentation and communication

Prof. Louis Hardan

Photography is powerful in dentistry, its numerous applications such as diagnosis and treatment planning, legal documentation, publishing and lecturing has made digital photography a standard of care in modern dental practices.Till few months the DSLR (Digital Single Lens Reflex) cameras were the only way in dentistry to take high quality macro images. Recently, smartphones have come a long way in digital photography due to recent technology development. The purpose of this lecture is to demonstrate the capacity of these devices to take high quality dental images for our daily documentation and to present a new device for mobile photography: the Smile Lite MDP, which is very simple to use and allows to take high quality dental pictures with mobile phones. Those pictures are useful in different types of documentation and communication, in a feasible teachable and repeatable way, by everyone and for everyday practice.

9.00 - 13.30 | Dental Photography, Shoot Like A Pro

Milos Miladinov

My promise is to make a dentist’s and technician’s life much easier when it comes to dental photography. The process will be simplified to allow participants to achieve professional level dental photography, in order to allow them into greater levels of photographic proficiency. The course provides a comprehensive hands on mix of technical equipment use, intra oral photography, close-up, laboratory, cross polarisation, portrait and artistic shooting for marketing.

9.00 - 13.30 | Microphotography- Magnification in Dentistry: Science & Facts

Dr. Claudia C. Cotca

The key in addressing accurate aesthetic pathogenicity of disease rests on optimal visualization during data collection, treatment and follow-up clinical sequence. Magnification renders capabilities, which outperforms the visual naked eye output, which become ever so valuable in the constructs of often-microscopic only accessible nuances. This lecture will outline the technologically advantage of microscopic and static and dynamic photography during clinical staging. The Global GoPro Duo will be utilized to illustrate this advance among the myriad of other combinations of magnification and photo capture technology.

Learning Objectives:

1. How to identify case selection for and implement magnification assisted diagnosis, treatment, and follow up stage data collection.

2. Identify magnification technology on the market and case illustration of Global Microscope GoPro Duo.

3. Options of comparative magnification in still and dynamic photo combination technology.

9.00 - 13.30 | Mastering high end photographic results in everyday practice: Why & How

Dr. Mirela Feraru

The aim of the lecture is to highlight the importance of proper dental documentation employing a simplified and practical approach for everyday documentation.

On completion of this lecture, participants will be able to implement the presented concepts and clinical tips, achieving a high level of clinical documentation in a predictable and reliable way.

Topics include:

  • Why dental photography?
  • How dental photography is implemented clinically
  • Photographic camera and its components: most recommended
  • How to set up the camera and main setting characteristics: understanding the technical parameters
